Your Teacher
Phil Hude
Phil has been in the hospitality and wine industry for 37 years. In 1996 he completed his university wine marketing studies at Roseworthy before starting his small wine business, Armadale Cellars in 1997.Phil’s wine knowledge and expertise has been accumulated over many years through regular trips to the New & Old world of wine. Phil has presented hundreds of tastings and winemaker's dinners and lent his wine expertise to numerous corporate speaking engagements and television and radio interviews.
Philip Shorten
After a decade in management consulting and having funded himself through his WSET studies, Philip made the leap into the wine trade in London during the 1990's. He worked for an up-market wine and spirits retailer in central London for five years prior to returning to Australia. Winner of Negociants Working With Wine Fellowship in 2016, Philip has travelled extensively throughout the wine world.

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a transfer or credit note.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
Terms & Conditions
- Strict 7 days cancellation policy – unless otherwise specified within the “Booking Notes” of your event. Wine Scholar Guild courses overwrite the 7 day policy to a strict 30 day policy.
- Gift vouchers for Armadale Cellars' events purchased through WeTeachMe are only redeemable for courses and events, and cannot be redeemed for purchases in store at Armadale Cellars.
- If you are unable to attend an event or course at/with Armadale Cellars you must inform us at least 7 days prior in writing or via email and we can offer to transfer you to another course or event. No transfers will be offered if cancelling within 1 week of the course or event date. After that, it is your responsibility to fill the spot with a friend or family member, otherwise seat/booking lapses.
- Public transport, taxis or rideshare services are the best way to get to and from our events and courses. We are a 7 minute walk from Armadale train station and the route 6 tram is right outside our front door.
- Parking:
For events at our cellar, we request that all participants park on High Street, where there are no parking restrictions from 6.30pm.
For external events, please check parking prior or contact us if unsure. - Gift certificate/bookings valid within 36 months of purchase. Gift vouchers/bookings are not redeemable for cash or wine, nor refundable.
