This is a good intro class, as the teachers each week started with simple information, but were knowledgeable and able to answer in more depth if requested to do so. Friendly atmosphere. You also get discounts on the wines presented each week. 8 wines a week. Week 5 dinner after the class - over a dozen wines plus dinner for $49!
The course was a series of independent guest presenters that provide you with an introduction to different wines. Undertaking a wine tasting course (techniques on how to taste) prior to the introduction course could be beneficial if you are wanting to exploit the wonderful opportunity of being introduced to so many wines in a short period of time.
The course book didn't really match the content of the sessions due to the independence of presenters. More information in the course book (rather than just headings) would be useful and would help address any information not covered by presenters.
Week 1 ran late and Week 3 finished early, a normal occurence I believe, no complaints here, just good to know for planning purposes.
Staff in the Cellar were always wonderful and know their craft, definitely a great place to go and purchase wines. A few Presenteres seemed a little tired.
Overall the course did what it said it would and that was provide an Introduction to Wine. The venue is unique and undertaking the course in a wine cellar definitely added to the experience.
