The passion of the tutors is clear. Meredith Stone and Michael Saunders were the best presenters, so knowledgable but respectful of the level of the people they were presenting to.
The course is structured in a way that includes a lot of blind tasting which if you have experience of the vartials it is great but does not help establish a base knowledge of these. This would be best aimed for someone who has existing knowledge.
A small amount of nibbles would be nice to be included, even a simple bread the timing of the course means coming straight for work and many of the session ran late meaning food options afterwards were limited.
As wine lovers, my partner and I have really enjoyed the Introduction to Wine course. We have learned so much about wine and have tried wines we never would have had an opportunity to taste.
Even if you already think you know a bit about wine, this course is great because it fills in the gaps and gives you a greater appreciation for what you are drinking :) highly recommended!
The 5 week Introduction to Wine Course run by Armadale Cellars is highly recommended.
I was initially uncertain whether the introductory course was appropriate for me, as I have experienced many great wines over many decades. I finished the course with no doubt. Apart from gaining greater appreciation about wine production, I now have a better understanding of the differences between old world and new world wines, and most importantly I am now gaining more enjoyment from the wine I consume.
I will definitely do more courses at Armadale Cellars.
