Wednesday evenings in a wine cellar being exposed to, and learning about, a new range of wines from some passionate wine experts! A great way to spend an evening.
The 4 week Advanced Red Wine tasing course was a very enjoyable experience. Very well organised and presented by a team of very knowledgeable, passionate people, I learnt much more than I had expected to. A great range of quality wines were presented in each session to give participants wonderful insights into the differences between countries, the influence of terroir, climatic conditions and wine making methods. The selection of varieties and blends, including some lesser known varietals [in Australia], together with the bonhomie, added to the tasting experience. Surprisingly, some of the best and more memorable wines were in the lower price range reflecting Phil's philosophy of searching for great value wines as well as offering established known brands . The purchase discount on the wines tasted was also a welcome surprise.
I participated in the 4 week Advanced Red Wine course, and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Our presenters, Phil, Philip and Meredith were experienced, knowledgeable and joyful. I look forward to participating in future events!
