Enjoyable and educational emceeing by Phillip who brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the tasting. It was a masterclass in recognising age, region and characteristics of a varietal. That said, it wasn't overly snooty, thus allowing novice enthusiasts the chance to parlay with the more experienced taster and not feel intimidated. All up it was a highly enjoyable evening.
We absolutely loved the Shiraz Challenge at Armadale Cellars. It was fun, informative, great value and above all... delicious.
A top class, top flight blind taste off of 12 premium Shiraz, with Grange hidden in there somewhere. It's so intriguing and so fun, I do it every few years to see how the other great wines compare to the infamous Grange. And with a light dinner and a couple of other wines along for the ride, it sure is great value.
