The Shiraz Challenge on July 25th was a very well executed event, hosted by owner Phil Hude, one of Melbourne’s, indeed Australia’s most energetic and endearing wine retailers. The twelve different reds represented many regions from cool to warm/hot climates, giving tasters a great perspective of the varying styles that this marvellous grape can produce, all of impressive quality in their own right. Identifying the Grange was not as easy as anticipated !!
Run in the atmospheric cellar under the store, the background information given in the preamble was most informative, and delivered with Phil’s inimitable humour and personality. Highly recommended for both novices and the more experienced of wine lovers. A terrific night out !
Absolutely magic night of fun, laughter, and incredible wines! It’s not often you get to compare grange with other top wines on the same night, and to find new wines to add to your cellar that you’ve had the chance to taste. Loved the added challenge of trying to pick the grange and identify the various wine regions, climates and vintages. Highly recommended
It was a great, fun night! A high-quality selection of very delicious wines, lots of good stories, and a lot of great information from Phil, our wine expert for the evening. We have already booked for another wine experience, and we will be back again!
