This event was well-organised; the speaker knowledgeable and we had a great variety of wines to choose from. There were around 17 of us in the downstairs cellar-style room. There is no pressure to buy wine at the end of the evening. We started at 6.30 and were served a very passable pie and salad at around 8.30. Evening finished as scheduled at around 9pm.
The event was overpriced for what we received. It was advertised as a wine tasting with supper. We waited until after the 12 wines to receive a small beef pie and salad - around 9pm when the tasting started at 7. Although the wines we tasted were exceptional, the overall experience was not comparable: we started late, the 'supper' was meagre, and the price did not give us value for money: we could have gone out for an amazing meal, including wine, at $129 per person instead what we receive at the Pinot Noir Challenge.
